This Song Is So Emotional Even Simon starts Crying!

Josh Daniel, a car mechanic, is the last contestant in what has been a long day of auditions for the X Factor judges. Simon asks him if he knows what that means. Josh says it means that it can either go really good or really bad. Simon agrees.

He then asks Josh what he’s going to sing, and Josh reveals the song and the special meaning behind the lyrics. His performance takes everyone by surprise – including Simon. Overcome with emotion, the often arrogant and abrasive judge cannot compose himself to talk. And, he’s not the only one. See what happens when one judge realizes she is at a loss for words.

Why is the performance so powerful? It’s because of Josh’s interpretation of this popular love song. He sings about heaven – and the message leaves everyone stunned.

That’s probably because many of us think about heaven – especially if we’ve lost someone we love. We wonder what heaven is like, what our loved ones are doing there, if they can see us.

The Bible talks about heaven, but our understanding is limited. Jesus says he is preparing a place for us in heaven (John 14:3). And, he says that if we believe in Him we will be with Him (2 Corinthians 5:8).

We do have some clues about heaven, though, from the Bible.

Dr. Tabor Shares Three Things About Heaven.

1. Pop-culture has gotten a few things right. Some of our perceptions of heaven are grounded in truth from the Bible. Jesus promises there will be a new heaven and new earth. We hear of pearly gates. The Bible says each of 12 gates of the new heaven will be made of a single giant pearl (Revelation 21:21).

2. We hear of streets of gold. The great street will be gold (Revelation 21:21). We will not need sunlight. Jesus will be our Light (Revelation 21:23)

3. Jesus will wipe our tears away – there will be no more death, suffering, crying or pain (Revelation 21:4).
Jesus is the way to heaven (John 14:6).

Josh’s passionate tribute is only part of the story of this video, though. Did you see what Simon does during judging and after voting is completed? He leaves a fellow judge, saying, “I don’t know what to do.” Would you know what to do?

Please Comment if you think Simon’s response was appropriate.
