This football player stood alone when his teammates didn’t stand for the National AnthemJesus Daily
The Millikin University football team wanted to take a stand by staying in the locker room during the national anthem, but the real message came from the lone player that decided to go onto the field.
Connor Brewer knew that his teammates were upset and were planning on protesting the national anthem by refusing to go onto the field until the game started. Brewer, however, decided he wanted to stand for the anthem, even if it meant he had to stand alone.
The other players claimed they respect the sacrifices made everyday for our country, but they decided to stay in the locker room to personally reflect on it all a different way. Brewer didn’t comment on any of the activity for the respect of his coaches and his team.
Yes, American patriotism is important, but the more important thing that Brewer taught us was to stand up for what you believe, even if you are standing alone.
Dear Loved One,
1. Unity is important.
2. Never be too afraid of what others will think, don’t ever let that get in the way of what you believe.
3. I pray that you are blessed as you lean on him today for strength in all things great and small.
I hope you are encouraged today by God’s love and the inspiring messages from Jesus Daily.
