The scientific reason women need more sleep than men

A recent study done at Loughborough University in the UK found that women need more sleep than men because their brains work harder each day!

Women tend to multitask allowing their brain to work in more complex ways than men. Because their brain works more, woman need more rest to build up their strength and focus for the next day.



How much more sleep? Well, the average person needs 6-8 hours of sleep a night to recover their bodies and brain from the previous day. According to the study, women only need 20 more minutes of sleep a night than men, but those 20 minutes can make a big difference! According to the study, sleep deprivation can have worse effects on women than men and can lead to health issues such as cardiovascular problems, diabetes, depression, stress, or anxiety.

So ladies, make sure you get enough sleep at night, science says so!
