Mom leaves dad with their daughter, she wasn’t expecting to come back to THIS!Jesus Daily
Dads are famous for the extreme things they come up with for watching the kids. Sometimes when mom walks out of the room and you get to stay with dad, that’s when the fun starts!
These dads have special bonds with their little ones. Whether being silly, affectionate or both, it’s a delight to see them interact this way. And, what they come up with??? You won’t believe it!
These dads (and the moms catching the antics on camera sometimes) are doing just what childhood experts say they should – they are connecting with their children. Children need their parents to be connected – to be available for them, physically and emotionally.
Confident children also come from happy confident parents. If a parent can find the joy in childrearing, experts believe that children will feel more secure and joyful. And, this video is full of JOY!!
Researchers also believe in the power of play. Play allows a child’s imagination to blossom. It teaches them physical dexterity and helps them to develop a strong mind and a sense of self in the world. What better way to play than to have fun with your dad?! And this video is FUN!
These dads know what the Bible tells us – children are a blessing from the Lord. Jesus certainly believed that, as we see from a story in the book of Mark.
Three things from Dr. Tabor about Jesus and Children
1. Jesus loved children. In Jesus’ time, children and women were not regarded as equal citizens with men. That was not true with Jesus. Jesus was kind to women and children. In fact, when parents were bringing their children to Jesus, they were shooed away. That’s when Jesus stepped in. Not only did he step in, he was indignant. He acknowledged children – and women – in a way that society did not. – “People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.” – Mark 10: 13-14a
2. Jesus welcomes children. Jesus was indignant. Yes! But, He didn’t stop there. He welcomed the children to him. He gave access to Himself, and then He went a step further. He said that the kingdom of God belonged to people like them. He not only acknowledged them, but He elevated them – and told the people that they should be like them. – “He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’” – Mark 10:14b-15
3. Jesus blesses children. Then, Jesus turned his attention from the crowd to the children. He hugged them, held them, placed his hands on them – just like the dads in these videos! – “And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.” Mark 10:16
Can you imagine sitting with Jesus, like these children? Having him hug you? Bless you?
He wants to do that!! He LOVES you!!
Share this joy if you love Jesus!!
