Mel Gibson confirms plans to make a movie about the resurrection

Mel Gibson is coming back to what he loves, directing! The highly anticipated movie Hacksaw Ridge is opening soon, but Gibson is excited about another project that will be in the works.

After his 2004 film The Passion of the Christ, Gibson confirmed his plans to work on a new projecta movie that will depict the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Gibson says Randall Wallace, who collaborated with Gibson on the movie Braveheart, is writing the script. However, Gibson says they probably will not start filming for at least 2 more years. Nonetheless, Gibson is excited about this movie that will depict such a huge event, saying:

“We’re trying to craft this in a way that’s cinematically compelling and enlightening so that it shines new light, if possible, without creating some weird thing.”
