High School Football Players Rush to Save Cat From Drowning in Storm Drain

It was a group effort to save a cat caught in a storm drain, and according to the two high school football players who found the animal in despair, it was also a race against the clock. George Lampros and Max Sergio say they heard the cat’s cries and knew they had to do something to help. They ran to Max’s house nearby and got whatever they could find — a crowbar to pry the gate open, a bucket to put the cat in, and rope to pull it up. After about 5 minutes, they were able to get the cat out.
