The turkey remains but with a chestnut filling. Turkey is not a big delicacy in France but Christmas calls for a feast! Foie gras (because it is crude simply to call it Duck liver) is also on the menu.


Hallacas, the Christmas dish of Venezuela, is a delicious package of beef, seafood, pork, or chicken mixed with sweet raisins, olives, and capers wrapped in a dough made from cornmeal and plantain leaf. Served with puff pastries filled with bacon, ham, and pan jamón, hallacas makes for a wonderful holiday treat.
