Yellow Onion

Yellow onions are your default onion. They go great in just about anything, are low in cost, and available year-round. If you’re looking to caramelize an onion, the yellow onion is your hero (it has a lot of sugar).

Red Onion

The perfect salad onion, red onions are great raw. Not so great if you’re wanting caramelized onions for your Philly cheesesteak; stick with yellow onions for that. Use these as toppers.
