Homeless Man With 2 Months To Live Makes Desperate Plea For Someone To Adopt His Beloved DogJesus Daily
One cold winter’s night in Fresno, California, Jenine-Lacette DShazer came across a man “crumpled” upon the sidewalk sheltering a small white dog. The man, seemingly more concerned with the dog’s warmth than his own, held the dog close to his chest as if to say, “I will always protect you.”
Noticeably shaken by the state of this man and his dog, DShazer sprinted to her car and grabbed a blanket, some cat food, and a roll of toilet paper. After presenting these items to the man, DShazer asked about his story. The man’s answer was shocking.
His name was Clifford James Herbert. He described how a series of medical complications had left him disabled and homeless. He shared that he was dying of cancer and with only a few weeks to live, was desperately seeking a new home for his beloved pet, Baby.
Dshazer, moved to tears, decided to create a GoFundMe page aimed at getting Cliff and Baby off the street. DShazer also began searching for a new home for Baby. With help from the online community, DShazer accomplished both.
A woman named Stephanie Walker adopted Baby. The Walkers have everything a dog could ever want: other dogs, a large property, and a friendly community. Thank God for the Walkers!
Clifford’s story is tragic, but thankfully, he lived to see Baby find a new home. God bless everyone involved!
Dear Sister and Brother,
1. God IS in control.
2. Life is not always fair, it rains on the just and the unjust…we should not compare our lives to others but focus on the plan God has for us.
3. Bad things will happen in this world, but God promised us a home in heaven if we believe in Jesus. A home without sorrow, pain or death…where we never will grow old.
