Actor Mario Lopez Is Baptized In Jordan River: ‘I Have Decided to Follow Jesus’

God is our Redeemer and our Savior, Amen! Even though our world is filled with darkness, our Lord is doing some amazing things and we place our trust in him at all times! Actor and TV personality Mario Lopez is just one of the great salvation stories to make the news, and we are so happy that the star is now professing the name of Jesus!

The TV host shared his Christian faith with the world recently. Lopez opened up about his faith on social media and posted a video of his baptism in the Jordan River. While on a trip to Israel, Lopez had toured holy sites and shared his experiences with the world via social media. In one video post, you can see Lopez standing right on the edge of the Sea of Galilee. “This is where Jesus walked on water,” Lopez said in the video, “and the River Jordan runs into the sea, and that’s where, of course, Jesus got baptized, which I’m gonna be doing!”

Lopez speaks out and says: “We are at the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. I’m about to get baptized. It’s a beautiful day. There’s a really cool Catholic priest that’s gonna do me the honors. And there’s a sermon going on right now. So I’m going to join these fine folks and then, bam! It’s on!”

Right after that, Lopez was dunked into the water and baptized in the name of Jesus! And, after Lopez was baptized, tourists that were at the spot from Romania starting singing the beloved song ‘I have decided to follow Jesus’. “Thank you,” Lopez said in the video as he was exiting the river. “Beautiful people here. This is awesome. Wow. I just got baptized in the Jordan River. Hallelujah.”

“That was awesome, that was so cool and I was so fortunate to meet these very nice people from Romania. They sang the song for me and everything. That was moving. That was cool,” Lopez continued saying. Lopez has been more and more open about his growing Christian faith, saying back in 2015 that he was working “to build a more spiritual muscle.” The actor was also caught saying: “It’s nice to have something that is consistent in our life — family and faith is that for me.” Lopez is said to be a devout Catholic and he has continued to post about his spiritual journey as he travels through the holy land. Watch Lopez’s baptism in the video below and praise God for another salvation!
